About Stephen J.P. Kupiszewski

Stephen brings experience from both sides of the bench. He spent the first decade of his career as an Assistant Attorney General in the Protective Services Section under Attorney General Grant Woods, working for a private firm in medical malpractice and insurance defense cases, and also in juvenile court, where he represented parents in severance and dependency cases against the state of Arizona.

In 2003, Stephen was appointed to the Superior Court bench as a commissioner. During his rotations as a judicial officer, he presided over criminal, family, probate, juvenile, mental health, tax, and civil cases. After a decade of service on the bench, Stephen decided it was time to retire for a record-breaking two days before opening a law practice with his wife, Jennifer. He had no choice they had four kids in college at the same time!

About Jennifer L. Kupiszewski

Jennifer’s longstanding career includes experience in both public and private practice. As an Assistant Attorney General, she represented the Arizona Department of Economic Security/Child Protective Services Division in juvenile court cases involving dependency, severance, and guardianship issues. Jennifer also worked at the Arizona Center for Disability Law representing families implementing systemic reform of the mental health system. She also represented the Maricopa County Public Fiduciary in cases involving adult guardianship and conservatorships.

Jennifer decided to go into private practice in 2007, representing clients in elder, juvenile, and probate matters. The cases she typically handles involve adults and children with special needs, as well as cases concerning non-traditional families. In her spare time, Jennifer volunteers with several organizations. Currently, she serves on the Board of Raising Special Kids, as the past Chair of the Board. Jennifer and Steve have a blended family of five children. If asked, their greatest accomplishment is putting all five kids through college, they all graduated and they are all employed in their chosen fields. They are so proud of their children and their growing family. They have on grandchild and one on the way!
